Survival Tips for 7th & 8th Grade
Social Studies:
- Make sure you have a notebook JUST for Social Studies notes
- Take daily notes~see Mrs. Brenneis or Mrs. Lingle if you miss a day
- Be sure to take notes the day BEFORE a test and use those notes to prepare for tests
- Do your daily book questions on the back of the worksheet
- See Mrs. Brenneis or Mrs. Lingle the day BEFORE a test for helpful info
English:
- Late work is only accepted until the following Friday
- If you miss something, check the notebook in the back of Mrs. Heaton's room or check Mrs. Heaton's website
Math:
- Use a multiplication chart if necessary
- Get help on your assignment if needed~you will have problems like your homework on your daily quiz
- See Mrs. Lingle or Mrs. Brenneis if you need more sample problems
- Check either Mrs. Johnson's or Mrs. Heffelfinger's website for any missed notes
Science:
- Define your vocabulary words
- Fill out your study guide before tests
- Keep your 8th grade Science notebook organized~ask for help if you need it
- Attend study sessions with Mr. Zavadil
Reading:
- USE YOUR PLANNER
- All work must be turned in on time
- Use a zippered binder to hold all reading materials and ONLY reading materials
- Bring all materials to class
- Required reading books will not be discussed in class
- Spelling word definitions due on Tuesday and spelling test on Friday
- Keep a list of 'Word of the Day' words and definitions

- During second semester students will have Friday activities which support reading decoding and comprehension. There will be lessons and quizzes dealing with things like prefixes and suffixes. MAKE FLASHCARDS!
